The "Crème Principal" cream (the best rises to the top)
The "Crème Principal" cream (the best rises to the top) by "word of link".
By Richard Thomas
In the planets recent past a few controlled what people could see, hear, and know. The few determined agenda and focus.
The internet has given birth to an autonomous system that determines what is good and what is important without bias, it gives birth to a natural agenda and focus.
It is a collective function of the world audience; each individual choice creates the collective choice.
The Internet provides natural mechanisms by which those things deemed worthy by popular vote are raised up. There is no special interest determining what is important or what is “good” we are collectively deciding via an autonomous system. In fact it is computers and algorithms that make the determination of what is of value, importance and quality.
Each individual votes with a link or reference regarding what is of substance and intelligence filtering out most special interest propaganda and ignorance, promoting that which may be suppressed or ignored by the conventional media.
Whether it is a blog, a website or an email each individual makes a contribution to the collective thought and the ranking of information and thought.
Not only that as we do right here many minds merge as one evolving and refining concepts and ideas, improving them. The power of many minds compared to one mind. I call it snowballing intelligence.
It could be viewed as expression of the collective will. Since it cannot be isolated to a single individual no one can be persecuted.

The words you speak are very good.
But beware of those other One's.
Those who know, but do not care.
They will try, but will they fail?
To change our prespective for their will.
Like where the "middle" meats the east.

The battle for who controls the Internet is ongoing between corporations who would like to control the flow of information and make the Web as another space to market their products or services. On the other hand, you have the "hacker" culture, which like its prophet Richard Stallman believes in keeping the Web free and open.
The best example of this the ongoing battle between the music industry, which wishes to protect copyright. However, digital technology and compression of music files allows music to be easily shared. Music industry has wanted to control the flow of information by using outdated models instead of realizing that it has to adapt to the new technology.
While the Internet in theory gives every person the ability to directly take their idea or creative product directly to visitors, still the Internet has not by any means levelled the playing field.
So as an example if you are a celebrity or someone with name recognition you can easily market and get publicity for anything whether online or in any other media. As an average Joe or Jane, you face an uphill battle, though you have the ability to succeed, however you define success.
